I'll mostly share author news below.
Detours in Time earns a Literary Titan award and five-stars! "A truly five-star novel, Detours in Time is a well-written and interesting story with characters who are developed independently and whose relationships are carefully crafted, not flung together as if forced. Detours never stalls or bores readers, but it invests enough time in explanations and detail that it feels thought out....Canepa brings Detours In Time to a natural close, but leaves the door wide open for a second novel in the series, hopefully one that readers will not have to travel too far into the future to experience." -Literary Titan review, 5 stars

From Lost to Loved, A Stray Dog's Tale, short story This is part of what I've been doing lately. Call it a labor of love, based on a subject I love. This heart-warming story is my own dog's origin story, imagined by none other than myself, from his beginnings as an abandoned dog to a stray, to his journey before we found each other. It is a free download and appropriate for younger readers, though it may be a tearjerker at times. I am also working on getting a novel published, something I have worked on for a year and a half now, but in the meantime, give this one a free read! Just click the button above the photo.
This is the Facebook and Twitter author header that I purchased on fiverr.com through a very talented young man named lacroixmessier. Getting a product with all the elements you want usually will cost more than $5 there, but it is in increments of $5, and it was still a great deal. He was responsive to my suggestions for edits and came up with a wonderful product! I love the juxtaposition of "primitive" author's tools and my Kindle e-books. When someone does great work for me, I like to share that news. The header directs people to this website. If this header makes you interested in buying my books, go to http://amzn.to/1t3BYGU at Amazon and click on the book you prefer! Not sure? Read the description and reviews. By the way, Made for Me is the first in the series.
Have a great day! -Pamela Now 1.99 for Kindle download. Seeing Through Sampson's Eyes, the second e-book in the Made for Me series, is now just 1.99 for a Kindle download. It's all strategy, and maybe we could call it a test, but at 107 pages, this book is a novella. Reader so far seem to really like it, but wish it had been longer. I suppose that's a good sign, right? So I decided to lower the price for a while and see how it goes. I think it's an amazing deal. Readers have said it reminds them of Bladerunner, but certainly with a lot less violence. One reader said it really got her thinking and even reminded her of some of the stories that show up on our primetime news stations lately. I can see that parallel as well. Topics involved: #sci-fi, #coming-of-age, #ethics in future technology and #equality.
The plan is that I will have this book priced at $1.99 through Labor Day weekend. I am soon planning to publish this book on Smashwords as well, making it available for Nook, Barnes and Noble, and various other retailers as well as Kindle. Wish me luck! It's a lot of work, but I am willing to do it. In the meantime, I recommend you give this book a read. It is a nice continuation from Made for Me, but can also be read on its own, and provides a good deal of suspense as well. Thank you for checking out my blog. Happy Reading! -Pamela Schloesser Canepa EXPANDING MY HORIZONS!
I've decided to branch out as a writer to Smashwords. True, I have a 90 day enrollment period at Kindle, but when it's done, I plan to have my already published books on Kindle and Smashwords. My next e-book will also be on Kindle and Smashwords. In the meantime, I have published a short story to Smashwords that can be downloaded for free! Please, do check it out, and reviews would be appreciated. Show the Smashwords community I'm worth a read! The story, "The Truth or I'll Shoot," is a paranormal mystery of a detective with an uncanny ability to catch criminals in their lies. It can be downloaded at http://www.smashwords.com/books/view/651691 for free. I did this to learn their formatting requirements, I guess you could say it's practice, and it gets my name exposed to the Smashwords community, so that's marketing.:) Benefits of Smashwords: They will distribute my e-books to Nook, Barnes and Noble, Apple, etc., which opens up a whole other reader's community to me as an author. It is also free to publish there, just as it is on Kindle. Okay, so it is twice the work, but I do want the exposure. Why would I want to miss that? And you, as a reader, can download books there as epub, so you can read it on your computer if you don't have a Kindle, Nook, or other reader. Win/Win! My plan, from now on, is to publish any future books I write on both platforms. It took time to learn, but in time, I will get comfortable with them both! Next goal: publication in print, as well as e-book for Kindle and Smashwords. As they say, 'The sky's the limit!' 228 downloads in 72 hours! Now This is Marketing Technique
So, I'll admit, I was checking the numbers way too often, but it was heartwarming to see the response to all of my hard work in the downloads of Made for Me in the its free promotion! I worked tirelessly posting news of my free book giveaway on Facebook, Twitter, Tumbler, Youtube, and Instagram. I also had a boost from my Book club, Rave Reviews Book Club (RRBC), that had countless people blasting news about my book and the free giveaway, as I was designated Member of the Week for the support I give other authors on Twitter. I stopped myself from doing the math to figure how much money I would have made. Instead, I figured that 228 people are no reading my book, which is 4 to 5 times the number of people who have read it in the three months since its publication! The first night, it earned another review on Amazon and a few on Goodreads. Hopefully, it will garner many more reviews in the days to come. My second book, Seeing Through Sampson's Eyes, was also on a Kindle countdown from 7/08 to 7/12. (Ending, about right now). From what I can tell, it sold 8 copies. That truly is not bad. I am hoping more people will download the second after reading the first. It truly is a good book, but I don't have a biased opinion! I have read in many articles and other places that the Free Amazon book giveaway sale is a great way of advertising yourself and your book. I didn't have to pay to make my book free. Well, I paid Bookwerm.com to advertise its free sale, and they followed through as agreed. The exposure is amazing! I plan to do this again someday, but you can only do this promotion for so many days per enrollment period. So, now I'm excited about these people who are reading me that would not have done so before. Let's hope they will keep me in mind, as I plan to give readers more to read and think about for years to come! 7/08 - 7/10 only- Made for Me Free promotion! Download it (free) at http://www.amazon.com/dp/B01DZ5230G and please, review on Amazon. If you've already read it, thank you! Please mention it to a friend, recommend, or share this event on your wall? I really appreciate it. ♥
7/08 and 7/09: Seeing Through Sampson's Eyes is .99! Get it at http://www.amazon.com/dp/B01GNNCHHQ It's a Kindle Countdown, so..... 7/10-7/12: Seeing Through Sampson's Eyes is 1.99. Still a deal! Don't miss out, I've been told the 2nd book is better, so I would love your feedback and need more Amazon reviews. You're helping me develop a retirement plan! ~Peace I decided to make a book trailer video for my books. Sure, I should have done so at or before the time of release, but I am still learning this craft. Somehow, I fumbled around and made mistakes, discovered things, as well as following step by step a Hubpages article written on the subject of making book trailer videos, by another indie author. The process was actually fun, but then I do love learning new things, and I feel like I have just embarked upon another social media outlet. All of which has been my goal as I have learned how much self-promotion and indie auther has to do. I'll admit, I was happy with the result! Please do take a look! |
